Happy 77th Birthday Cemi!

Happy 77th Birthday Cemi!

Why 77 you ask?  Well, because Facebook says so...

KNN.  How old already (Cemi is 32 by the way) still trying to smoke us.

Anyways, our ex-NTU star striker just had an operation on his knee, and was still limping when he met us for lunch.  We lunched at a Chinese restaurant since he was going to have dinner at some atas Italian restaurant with his wife tonight...

There are no pictures of the food, as it was so delicious that we've finished them before we had time to take any.  BTW, our brother Gant missed out on the good food as he was on some 'act healthy' diet.  He aims to lose around 5 to 10 kg, but as Cemi says, the 10 kg target is 废 one because brother Gant will stop his diet once he had lost 5 kg. "He might as well target to lose 5 to 100 kg" (Quote of the year candidate)

We then proceeded to Percolate to have coffee.  Cemi says its nice, so it must be nice!

Cemi and Song Wei then went to visit Christine and Hannah...  Ok we should stop lying.  We actually went to play FIFA at MC's house.

As usual, Cemi made a lot of "Tough But Fair" tackles, as can be seen below (He's using PSG btw)

Unfortunately, the referee didn't agree with Cemi

More pics of Cemi and MC playing a "Tough but Fair" game

After watching Cemi play, my conclusion is that his FIFA skills are about the same as his football skills.  Good build up, dominates possession, but misses lots of chances like how he missed 17 one-on-one chances in a single A division season... Sigh.

Anyways, Happy birthday Cemi! Hope to see you again soon!  Remember to take care of your knee so you can get back on the pitch with us quickly!  Cya when you're back in Singapore in a few months time!

(PS: You're not young anymore.  Faster have a baby!  Hopefully one of LFC's children can marry your kid, then he/she would have 嫁入豪门 and 少奋斗三十年 already.. Haha)

CNY Bowling Tournament 2016

Hi all, we're back!

It's time to update this blog again so we can laugh at the stupid things we did when we were young (what? 30 years old not young already? who say one!)

Anyways, we hope everyone had a great CNY.  Some of us had severe post-CNY blues, so we took the day off on 初三 to escape from reality.  Since our Handsome God, Mark Wu is back from North Korea China, he brought us to Tampines Safra to demonstrate hao lian his exceptional bowling skillz.

This is the result after game 1.  Guess how much the Handsome Bowling God scored. 1st one to get it right will win a trip for 2 pax to Anfield to watch Liverpool lift the premier league title when it happens

Incidentally, we've also split ourselves into two teams, with Team 1 led by Ex-Meridian JC star bowler Alvine Ang, joined by Song Wei and Brother Gant to 扯his 后腿.  The odds-on favourite, Team 2 obviously had Handsome Bowling God Mark Wu as its captain, with strong support from the Eyes of the Midfield Jii Yan and our Huang Sir.

Unfortunately, Handsome God Mark Wu had left his balls bowling ball behind in Dan Dong, and was unable to perform up to his usual standards, resulting in Team 1 trashing Team 2 edging games one and two 343-283 and 390-315 respectively

Given that the losing team had to pay for the winning team for each game, Team 2 finally found their balls form at the right moment, leading up to the exciting finish in the video below:

In the end, Brother Gant made everyone happy.  Happy CNY guys! Part II will be on Friday!

Our Best Friend TRR - NSW

This is it.  Our final journey with TRR.  We never imagined that this day would come to pass, thinking that we’ll all grow old together while teaching our kids to play football at our weekly kick-a-bout sessions.

TRR always brought joy and laughter to our mundane lives.  He loved annoying us with his ‘cool’ replies, ramblings in Chinese in our whasapp group chat, and the infamous ‘tiam la’ and ‘sorry’.   Having TRR around was always fun – Mahjong and DoTA sessions, playing winning eleven and FIFA on his playstation, fooling around with his pet dog Bella and many more.  We always looked forward to the Christmas parties at his house, where we could savour the delicious Mee Siam that his mum prepared, and our low budget gift exchanges where we trade ‘interesting and useful’ presents with our soccer kakis.  How we’ll miss those wonderful times.

As we prepare to bid TRR goodbye, we should also be proud of his heroic final act.  We hope the seeds that he sheltered will grow into strong and sturdy trees, taking on his selfless spirit and doing him proud.  While time and tide may ease the pain of losing our best friend, TRR will forever live in our hearts.  We know that he’ll be looking over us, and will always be available to receive our passes.  Rest in peace my friend, as you’re in a better place now.

With love,
Song Wei

Goodbye TRR -andy

Dear Terrence,

"then the dust will return to the earth as it was, and the spirit will return to God who gave it."

Your work on Earth is completed and now you'll enter the kingdom of God. Thank you for the years of soccer companionship with LFC. I'll miss you.We never got the chance to bid farewell, we'll never need to. In the clouds, I'll meet you again.

Love,Andy

Remembering TRR - JY

Trr

It was the greatest honor to have you as my friend. I am most fortunate to have met and known you.

Thank you for bringing laughter and happiness to the LFC group during our precious time together. Life will never be the same again, but I will always remember you for the positive attitude and enthusiasm in soccer and in life. I will learn to look at life on a lighter note, and to genuinely appreciate life and cherish the people around me.

I look forward to dancing on the courts with you again - till we meet.

Death ends a life, not a relationship

True friendship is when you walk into their house and ur phone wifi connects

TRR: "True friendship is when you walk into their house and ur phone wifi connects"

Trr's retirement

On JUNE 5, a 5.9 magnitude quake shook Sabah in Malaysia and it struck us that Terrence, who sent Andy a birthday greeting on the previous day, was there on a school trip.

1. Trr's final words to us on 4 June 2015

We were constantly kept abreast of his situation with updates from various sources throughout the next day even as we continued with individual activities. But our worst fears were realised when The Straits Times published the report on the identities of the 8 casualties on 6 Jun.

2. 8 bodies identified on 6 Jun.

Consumed by grief and disbelief, one by one we struggled to accept the fact that our No. 22 winger has not only eternally retired from our weekly soccer but also from our lives as well.

3. Soccer will no longer be the same.

His satirical but humorous remarks will forever be etched deep within our heart. His incredibly optimistic way of life will serve as a rememberance to feed Cherokee's shiny white wolf inside us. Most importantly, his final act of bravery, taught us to live a life with dignity and responsibility

4. "Last attack!!" Trr displayed his finest quality as Mr Loo

Terrence Sebastian, in Latin (Language of the Roman Church), means smooth & venerable and our Trr had certainly lived up to his given name. Despite the fact that he is no longer here physically, he shall, forever live on.

5. Till then our no. 22, our friend, our brother.

Undisputed quote of the year: COOL
