Back in Action!!!

After being out in the sidelines for more than 6 months.. the forgotten man (but nt as forgotten as our ancestor.. u noe who u are.. ;p) Yong Lin, Yang is finally ready to step onto the pitch again.

YYL was injured during the end of season break in December while participating in the annual Play Chinese Chess competition. The legendary and ever popular event requires the participants to Play Chinese Chess in different positions continuously for as long as they could. Being the 9 time defending champion, YYL was gunning for his 10th straight title when disastor struck in the grand final. While trying to execute an insanely difficult manouvre (with a difficulty rating of 100 out of 10), YYL lost his balance & fell down, nearly injuring his valuable Chess Set (with his crown jewels embedded inside -- its a feature of the event). Being the YYL we know - he treats his Jewels like the holy grail, he tried to protect it from breaking. Fortunately for him, he managed to save his jewels, and they live to fight another day... Alas, in the process, he fractured his left wrist, rendering him injured and forcing him to relinquish his title. YYL was then sent to the hospital and thus began his ardous journey back to fitness.

After many dark days of rehabilitation, YYL has finally declared himself fit for the coming match on sunday. Club chairman Lim JY conveyed his congratulations from Alpha Tango land, and said "I'm glad that such a wonderful player has finally recovered from his injury. He'll just be like a new signing! (as quoted from our beloved French manager of some EPL team who loves to play without goalkeepers.. and may lose their 3rd place on sunday to their london rivals.. rly is LOL)"

YYL is understandably delighted to be back. He said, "Its been a very long journey back, & I'm really glad to be back playing football again!" When asked if he would try to get back his PCC title this year, he replied, "Well, it depends, Playing Chinese Chess has been the passion of my live. You can even say that the sole purpose of my existence in this world is to PCC! If fitness permits, I'm sure to participate in the competition again. I've been practising real hard too! I started training just 2 hours after my injury, helped by some japanese maids and nurses that I've downlo... err i mean hired on the internet... & i've been increasing the intensity of my training to nearly 10 hrs a day!"

With such determination, its no wonder that YYL is again the overwhelming favourite for the 2010 PCC tournament. Well, that's it for this moody thursday's report from your friendly reporter. Cya guys on sunday!
