Match Report 3: LFC 2 vs RTC 2

Argentina's injury-time equaliser salvaged a fortunate 2-2 draw for RTC(Random Team Cyan) to prevent LFC recording 2 straight wins. LFC fought for everything only to have their hearts broken 2 minutes before injury-time when Buffon was helplessly lobbed. Argentina had opened the scoring for RTC only for CEMINATA and TF to score after half-time and allow LFC to take the lead. However, it was sadly lost again to a suspicious decision that did not rule the striker offside.

RTC almost took the lead after just 10 minutes when No.9 curled a 20-yard free-kick inches wide of a post. ARGENTINA saw a 20-yard shot easily saved by Buffon four minutes later. It was a very tight game and YQ was next to try his luck with a dipping drive just over. RTC should have scored after 20 minutes when Italy broke away, but YL was quick to close in onto him.

JY had forced to concede a corner and when the RTC skipper crashed the corner across the goal, Buffon could only half stop the effort, and ARGENTINA punished him by scoring on the rebound just after 30 mins.

The 1st goal came from TF, the relentless midfielder, who was near the kick-off line, did a majestic giggs run after receiving a pass from JW in the middle. After blitzing through 3 helpless defenders, TF scored what that could be the goal of the season.

LFC continued to come forward and, after JH grafting had retained possession on the left, the ball was transferred to Vin, who fired wide from the edge of the box.

RTC were being forced into mistakes as LFC continued to press for a 2nd. RTC did break out, but after Italy's surge the chance fell to No.9, who drove over. There was an air of desperation now about RTC - yet another team had come to Yishun and attacked them - and they were not enjoying it.

The hard-working JW, SW and TF was placed to marked No.9, which proved to be an effective tatical decision by Tim and YQ, as RTC still showing little sign of an equalizer. JS defended well as Fat striker had a quiet game.

Vin and Terr both fired just wide from 20 yards, after winning possession from defenders again and again. Time was apparently running out for RTC, who had not been able to mount the expected grandstand finish.

LFC deservedly took the lead when the a mistake-flicked on header from RTC's defender allowed the ball to fall into the feets of Ceminata, and with a simple right-footed flick, the Indonesian scored his first goal of the season.

Ceminata had failed to kill off the game after being wonderfully setup-ed by LFC's midfielders. Their out of this world teamwork and passes left RTC defenders stumped and rooted onto the ground. However, after receiving the pass, Ceminata's first time cheeky strike was unluckily forced over the top bar by the keeper.

Substitutions were made as YT came in for TERR. YT runs on the left provided precious attacking dimensions to the team.

Minutes before injury-time, RTC finally found some space due to dubious decision by the referee, by not calling a cross offside. This gave Argentina a chance to lob Buffon and gave RTC a fortunate hard-earned draw.

Terrence was the last throw of the dice in place of SW but it was too late.

'Despite trailing in the first half, my team wants to fight and they fight every moment for the win. The players' attitude always stay the same, it is very positive.' said Tim. 'Despite being outplayed in the first half, our players showed composure and we could have gotten the third (goal), if cemi had finished it nicely and that would have ended it. Everyone has said we deserved to win, and that is how we feel. In particular in the second half, we were on top of them and caused a lot of problems. That was good. We had suffered a bad defeat in the first game due to a person, who single-handedly split our own defence, and we knew we would do better without him. Then we conceded a goal like that at the beginning, which didn't help, I felt we did well to come back into the game. We raided quickly, were strong in midfield and TF and Cemi scored, but in the end it was a bad result for us. But we have got a great spirit, everyone can see that, we have done a lot of travelling to get here. It has been a difficult time for us. But we took a lot of confidence from this.'
